Putting the landing page together - A case study

April 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments

OK, here is the complete package. I’m not sure if the landing page copy is too long for the layout or not. It may be that some of these points would fit elsewhere on the site. But working from the copy Jason sent, this is where I am.

URL and Tag Line:

BuyEstablishedWebsites.com
Websites with a track record. A marketplace with credibility.

Headline:

Why aren’t there tens of thousands of websites listed here?
Not everyone survived the interrogation process.

Copy:
This is not the website marketplace for lame and wimpy performing websites or leery sales people. By manually reviewing every single site listed here, we can weed out the losers and cookie-cutter sites and maintain a level of quality that benefits both buyer and seller.

This means buyers don’t have to wade through the junk to find the gems. And sellers don’t get lost in a bottomless sea of website listings. No other marketplace offers this type or this level of service.

Subhead:
Listings are easy to find and attract views by highly targeted traffic.

Listing a site is an easy, seamless step-by-step process. And both buyer and seller can appreciate our marketplace structure—the highly detailed listings and an integrated feedback system that allows a seller to build a reputation and allows buyers to achieve a level of transaction comfort.

Add to that a highly specified search function that allows website buyers to cut to the chase and target exactly the sites they are looking for. So your listings get viewed by more highly targeted traffic which increases your money-making potential and decreases the time it takes to sell it.

Subhead:
Listing, looking and membership are all free.

Membership to list or login is free. We don’t get paid until sellers get paid which assures you that we are motivated to do our part when it comes to features, transaction process, information and customer service.

Subhead:
We give buyers and sellers many venues to interrogate us.

Our value-added service includes a plethora of information regarding website buying, selling, flipping, and development, as well as a powerful arsenal of webmaster tools. See our Support Center, Blog or Forum for our support venues and resources.

Then take us for a test drive and see how seamless and simple we’ve made the process.

I’m not sure what this really is. Is this a project you are working on? Are the three subheads different ones you are considering? Are we to vote for one?

The headline and photo are a nice twist, not your everyday, run of the mill BS.

Glad I visited, and am off to browse some more!

It’s the final of a series. I think sometimes blogs are hard to follow. But it started with website makeovers section. I had critiqued a page and the guy wrote to me and I made it a case study. So this is sort of the final based on things we decided on prior posts. However, a new case study will start next week. I have to get permission from someone first to use him as a case study.
