Check out the warrior forum and see what the other pro copywriters say. Target audience, target audience, target audience. It’s the first thing the successful copywriters research. Most don’t put keystroke on electronic page until they define the target market, learn all they can about them. It is absolutely the first thing you should do. The free target market document helps you define them. Once you see the questions, you will start to get the idea of what I mean by defining your target.
Big brands hire agencies and exhaust millions of dollars to research the target market. Big brands segment and repackage to sell to niche markets. They run focus groups, do telemarketing, market research, surveys and manufacture those little cards you have on your key ring designating you as valuable customer and registering your buying habits.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how companies track and figure out their target market. They measure hits and misses, track down spikes and study the slumps. Oftentimes, we’d get a new client and a job would not hit the creative department for 6 months. All that time was spent isolating a target market and defining a marketing strategy.
You can do this on a smaller scale. Post a poll on a forum. Ask one-three questions in an eNewsletter and reward respondents with a free tip report, a tutorial on what this audience might like to learn about, or a coupon for a discount. Use analytical tools to evaluate your bounce rate (how many bop in and bop out quickly), the key words they use to find you, which keywords seem to facilitate the longest visits. Learn a few new things a day and digest the information.
The dropout rate for creating a site that caters to a target market is high. People are just too lazy, too lost, too focused on the tools to create a site or just too overwhelmed. And this is pretty much what separates the entrepreneurs from the rainbow chasers. So which one are you?

The only advice I have to give to your readers is, 'DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME'.
Using webpreppro has helped me find my real market, organize a marketing plan and change my website to attract that market; a vital key for those wanting to have an online business.
